The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is giving an incredible opportunity through its Undergraduate Scholarship Program for 2024 session. The program will not only award financial assistance but also offers unique internship experiences and a guaranteed job upon graduation.


CIA’s Stokes Scholarship Program was named in honor of the first African American congressman from Ohio, the Honorable Louis Stokes, who played a great role in the fighting for civil rights, equality, and social and economic justice. The program’s objective is to assist talented students with a financial need in studying mission-critical skills at the college level, while also contributing to the CIA’s overall hiring goals.

With access to valuable resources and a network of more than 2 million exceptional peers spanning high school to college and career, NSHSS scholars embody academic dedication and outstanding leadership in their schools, workplaces, and communities.


The CIA’s Stokes Scholarship is a competitive, financial need based program. The CIA offers financial needs-based scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students. In addition to a year-round salary, scholarship recipients will get up to $25,000 in tuition assistance per calendar year. 


CIA Scholarship Details:


Tuition Assistance: Up to $25,000 per calendar year for STEM students and up to $18,000 for non-STEM students.

Internships: At least two 90-day tours in the Washington, DC area before graduation.

Employment: Guaranteed full-time employment at the CIA post-graduation.

Additional Benefits: Daily allowances for meals and incidentals during summer work tours, partial lodging reimbursement, transportation cost reimbursement, competitive annual salary, health insurance, federal retirement plans, paid time off, and holiday leave

Eligibility criteria for CIA’s Stokes Scholarship:

For candidate to be approved into the prestigious opportunities candidate must meet up with the following criteria stated below:


  • candidate must have a Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Candidate Must be a U.S. citizen birth or naturalization 
  • Candidate Must be at least 18 years of age at time of application
  • Eligibility is based on a maximum yearly household income of $120,000 or $50,000 if independent.
  • Candidate Must have been accepted for  to a 4-year college/university (if in high school) OR acceptance to a graduate school (if a college senior)
  • Availability to work at least one 90-day summer tour in the Washington, DC area prior to graduation, and willingness to work at the CIA full-time after graduation
